At A Neat Read Publishing, we create enchanting children's chapter and picture books, authored by Nita Marie Clark and illustrated by Kathy N. Doherty, for readers of all ages.

Nita is an active, motivated, vision impaired author. In 2017, as an old lady kicking 80, with the encouragement of her great granddaughter Lillian, Nita began her career as an author with her first book; The Royal Search for Shenanigans. Looking back on all the little poems she had written over the years for inspiration, Nita has created a charming collection of children’s books that brings joy and laughter to readers of all ages.

Nita currently lives with her husband of 69 years William in Stark County, Ohio, where she also enjoys spending time with her children and their families. Suffering from WMD Nita uses a large screen television for her computer monitor to write her books, staying connected to her fans and researching her ancestry. With the help of her daughter Kathy, Nita has become a member of the DAR, the Society of Mayflower Descendants, and they are working on her application to the Jamestown Society.

Nita firmly believes that we each have a unique story to tell, and those stories should be put down on paper. To someone someday it could be the most amazing thing ever written!

Kathy N. Doherty, a woman of many hats and interests, such as raising her children, being there for her grandchildren, reading, crafting, sewing, gardening, hiking, and just overall being creative.

Kathy has worked with her mother for years in Nita's previous business as well as illustrating the books her mother writes.

Since Nita is vision impaired, Kathy tends to the marketing, bookkeeping, and day to day workings of A Neat Read Publishing, LLC, double checking Nita's writing, and doing some editing for her.

Kathy also helps her parents with their daily life as they age.
