Growing up in a large family, losing her mother when she was just eight years old, Nita quickly learned life is filled with many ups and downs. In difficult times she would look to find comfort and support from a good book.
While working as a volunteer librarian at her children's elementary school, she quite often found herself wanting to writeok that would inspire, entertain, and ignite a passion in young children. In her role as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Nita has always believed that what a child reads influences the rest of their lives.
A Pioneer in her field, busy building her business, Nita tucked away her dream to write her first middle grade novel. Then after twenty seven years as a lawn greeter, Nita's great granddaughter Lillian encouraged her to turn the stories she would tell Lilli about the Shenanigan dragon display into a novel. Nita finally wrote her first children's book, The Royal Search for Shenanigans, debuting as the first book in her series, The Secrets of Zen Castle.
Nita collect carousels believing them to be a great metaphor for life; starting out slow, full of ups and downs, a bit of fun mixed in, then coming full circle to a slow ending.
